For context: I am the AD for a local non-profit food pantry.
The focus of our volunteer meeting for the month of September is going to be team building and diversity training (specifically how we can promote equity within our organization, and why that is not the same thing as equality). We are also going to dig a little deeper into the obstacles our clients face and complete exercises that allow our volunteers to get a better understanding of privileges.
Does anyone have any recommendations for team building exercises that will actually be enjoyable for the volunteers instead of eye-roll worthy?
Also, any recommendations for exercises we can do that appropriately and meaningfully demonstrate the importance of diversity and how we can embrace diversity as an organization?
Thanks in advance!
