Strategies to steward a storytelling culture within your organization?

Encountered some resistance within the organization to participate and engage with the team. Some of this has to do with a historical tensions between direct service staff and marketing, development and marketing. Starting to get the sneaking suspicion that some egos on my own team may be at fault. Anyways that's beside the point. I'm curious to learn what strategies other people have taken to encourage members in their organization to contribute to marketing efforts? If they've encountered similar tensions? Strategies that worked well for them?
