I have just relocated to a small town in Czech with very few to no opportunities in the nonprofit field. I did move here for family reasons and do not anticipate leaving here in the next couple of years.
I am at a bit of a crossroads in where to go next professionally. I obtained my MSW focused on Macro Social Work, about 5 years in case management with 1 year as a lead, and was a Peace Corps volunteer. I was at the point in my career where I was going to transition into a Program Management position, but my move did throw a wrench into all that. I have not been able to find a position in the nonprofit world and see myself teaching English to pay the bills this coming year.
I guess I am just seeking some insight from other professionals in the field. I have no idea if it would be possible for me to work remotely for a US-based nonprofit or another EU nonprofit. What are some further professional development activities I should dive into in order to make myself more competitive for remote positions? Should I just start my own nonprofit and carve out a niche for myself here? I was even considering a 2nd master's, MBA specifically, or just leaving the field altogether. There are no clear or easy answers I get that. I am more lost professionally and any insight would be appreciated.
