It is my understanding that donations to organizations for helping people abroad (Haiti earthquakes, schools in Kenya, Tsunamis in Japan, etc) are not tax deductable.
Therefore, if I have a project for going abroad to provide some sort of help, should I create it under a for profit entity to make things simple?
If I solicit for contributions over the internet or by mail in multiple states, am I just considered to be conducting for profit business? No need to register in each state like I would for a 501c3?
