Looking to start a career in grant writing

I recently left a position as an executive director of a non profit because of all the cut backs due to the pandemic (it was a free clinic so the strain of this healthcare non profit in a health pandemic was ALOT). It was coming to a point where I felt like I was in The Shining (All Work And No Play). I worked there for three years, it was in shambles when I started and I really made a difference with the work being done, increase in funding, people served and overall public relations.

I really really enjoyed grant writing, but since I was wearing so many different hats, I didn’t get to spend as much time as I hoped for doing grant writing. I’ve won over $220,000 in grant monies and I thoroughly enjoyed writing and researching grants. Im wondering how I can monetize grant writing as a contractor, but I’m also looking for some experience to develop a proper portfolio. If there are any non profits looking for a low cost or even pro bono grant writer, please let me know. Or if there’s any recommendations on how I can get started with this new journey, I feel totally lost and I’m getting to a point where I’m running out of my savings and I don’t know what to do once that runs out. PLEASE HELP!
