Is Raiser’s Edge really that complicated?

I'm currently in the process of interviewing at a job as a database manager at a small but well funded nonprofit. I have a bit of background in coding and niche software for various functions. The interviewers have seemed pretty genuinely concerned about learning to use RE, and I have to say I am not really concerned about it at all, since my job the past three years has involved a lot of teaching myself software and coding skills, then teaching them to others. I've done some research, and though it looks a little old and particular, there's a decent number of training and videos out there. Should I be more concerned about picking it up than I am? Using the queries function on the software can't be more complicated than using SQL or javascript, right?
