If you work for a nonprofit that helps people (e.g. a food bank), what do you call those people (i.e. the hungry people)?

I need this for a brochure I'm writing for my nonprofit copywriting services. E.g.,

"Creating an
Authentic Connection
with Donors, Volunteers, and
People Who Need Services"

Does that work, or is there a better general term? Maybe clients? I think "people in need" is outdated – is that correct, and is this terminology better?

Thanks for any input!!
