Mean it when they say they want “young people”, rather than what they do now: which is blandly recruit people without grey hair, and patronize TF out of them until they leave.
Use donor funds to do what is best for the organization, rather than what they do now: which is create costs for donors to spend on or for us to split (particularly infuriating because it means we have to also spend), and jump in fear of donor offense whenever a donor makes a suggestion.
Respect employee time, rather than what they do now: which is let meetings run long; throw ‘employee appreciation’ events without paying for employees to be there and calling them optional, when all they really are are parties to make them selves feel good and justify takeout.
Keep themselves schooled on up to date practices, or resign, rather than what they do now: which is whine when something is too high tech, and spend thousands to hire out help do what could be done by ordinary boards.
