How hard is it to land a volunteer treasury/finance board position at a nonprofit?

I'm interested in volunteering at a nonprofit (specifically I'm interested in animal welfare) with the following qualifications:

– Bachelor's in accounting/finance

– 1.5 years experience in tax (primarily individual tax)

– 2 years experience volunteering at a local animal shelter (2016-2018) as a dog walker

– Beginning new position in the software industry as a financial analyst

I'm only 1 year out of my bachelor's. Is that too ambitious?

*Sorry if this is not the right subreddit.
