Good value, effective media tracking/comms resources for my small social change nonprofit?

Hi all! Glad to find this group. I'm the media relations director at a small but mighty social change nonprofit. We've been using Google Alerts for our media tracking, but I think we can do so much better. I'd love to be able to generate national lists of reporters working in our area or in the areas of particular campaigns we're working on and do other clever strategic things. I'd also like to not miss hits like I know I am with Google Alerts.

Meltwater/Agility PR has been suggested to me. I just noticed a PR firm one of our partners works with uses something called "TVEyes" but that appears to just be for broadcast.

Any thoughts? We do not have a lot of money to throw around (although it's possible I'll be able to get some kind of budget for this) so I'd really be looking for something that's value for money. Doesn't have to be free, obvs, but it does have to be good. Thanks!
