Expected audit cost?

Hi! I know the answer is usually going to be “it depends” but I’m looking for a realistic range. How much should a full audit cost for a 501c3 with a budget of just under $1 million and a staff of 20. Almost all spending is staff, overhead and contractors. No government grants or any particularly hairy peculiarities. I heard from an accountant that you’d be looking at minimum $25k. Is this right? Seems wild to me that the audit threshold is $500k, which would make the audit 5% of revenue for orgs just over the line.
